TL;DR The Ministry of Education of Buenos Aires partners with ETH Kipu Foundation to introduce blockchain technology into high school curriculum. Starting August 27, students will engage in blockchain internships. An online Solidity course and teacher training are also part of the initiative.

Buenos Aires Embraces Blockchain Education

The Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires has forged an innovative partnership with the ETH Kipu Foundation. This collaboration aims to integrate Ethereum and blockchain technology into the high school curriculum, positioning Argentina ahead of its Latin American peers in tech education.

Beginning August 27, high school students in Buenos Aires will be uniquely able to engage in professional internships focused on blockchain projects. These internships equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in the emerging tech economy.

Argentina to Launch Online Solidity Course

In addition to the in-school programs, the partnership includes a new online course on Solidity, a programming language used to develop Ethereum applications.

This course will be available to 500 students aged 18 and older. It aims to give them the tools to participate actively in the Ethereum development community.

The training is expected to prepare young Argentines to develop applications that can be integrated into local business operations. This has the potential to significantly boost the country's economic prospects.

"By integrating Ethereum education into high schools, we're not just teaching students about technology -- we're giving them the tools to shape the future," said Paula D., co-founder of the ETH Kipu Foundation. "This initiative will open up new career opportunities for young people and place Argentina at the forefront of the global blockchain movement."

Teacher Training and Future Expansion

To ensure the initiative's success, the ETH Kipu Foundation has committed to training 30 teachers through a hybrid training program focused on Ethereum and blockchain technology.

While no information has been provided on whether this program will be expanded to other cities or provinces in Argentina, the current efforts mark a significant step forward in embracing digital innovation.

Milei Administration's Crypto Tax Law Reversal

Earlier this year, Argentina's President Javier Milei decided to remove the proposed crypto tax law from a controversial omnibus reform package to expedite the approval of a set of reforms.

The bill initially included provisions requiring taxpayers to declare ownership of previously undisclosed assets, including cryptocurrencies.

However, Minister of Interior Guillermo Francos announced the removal of these clauses, citing the need for rapid economic development and legislative efficiency.

Argentina has seen its fourth-highest annual inflation rate globally, at 200%, which could be why the country also has one of the fastest-growing cryptocurrency markets, with a rate of ownership of 23.5%, second only to Turkey's 27.1%.
