TL;DR A Dogecoin influencer has issued an urgent warning about a scam targeting the DOGE community. Community members are urged to report the fraud.

DOGE Influencer Sounds Alarm

A notable Dogecoin (DOGE) influencer, identified as 'Inevitable360', took to X (formerly Twitter) to expose a new scam attempt on the Dogecoin community.

The crypto influencer said the fraudulent activity involves an account impersonating the official Dogecoin Foundation's X profile.

The Dogecoin Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes technical development and Dogecoin. The foundation's influence over its community has grown significantly, which is why scammers are targeting it to exploit the trust of DOGE enthusiasts.

Impersonation and Deception

According to Inevitable360, the scam account closely mimics the Foundation's X profile. It uses similar branding and messaging to deceive DOGE investors.

The influencer shared a screenshot showing that the impersonator's account has over 69,300 followers. The scammer's account allegedly built a large follower base, gained verification under a different identity, and rebranded itself to impersonate the Dogecoin Foundation.

"The Dogecoin community must stay vigilant and report this fake account to prevent further scams," urged Inevitable360.

Rising Scam Threats

Meme coin communities are increasingly becoming targets for scam attacks. As coins like Dogecoin and Shiba Inu (SHIB) rise in popularity, fraudulent schemes targeting their communities also grow.

Dogecoin has experienced various scam attempts, including phishing attacks and impersonations. Similarly, Shiba Inu has also warned its community about scam activities.

Shiba Inu's Precautionary Measures

In response to the escalating scams, the Shiba Inu scam tracker, Shibarmy Scam Alerts, issued a warning on August 18. The tracker highlighted fraudulent sites and malicious individuals targeting SHIB investors.

They provided essential tips for investors to protect themselves, such as safeguarding crypto wallet private keys, verifying websites and links, and reporting suspicious activities to platform administrators and law enforcement agencies.

As both the DOGE and SHIB communities face growing threats, these warnings underscore the need for vigilance and proactive measures to protect crypto assets. Community members are encouraged to stay informed and report any suspicious activities immediately.
