TL;DR Siemens has announced that it is expanding its collaboration with NVIDIA to advance its industrial metaverse initiatives. At the NVIDIA GTC Conference, the companies demonstrated how generative AI could achieve photorealism in visualizing complex data, showcasing how sustainable shipbuilder HD Hyundai could leverage this technology for new product development.

Siemens has decided to broaden its collaboration with NVIDIA, aiming to further develop its industrial metaverse initiatives, marking a significant move in the integration of advanced technologies in industrial operations.

The announcement came during the NVIDIA GTC Conference, where Siemens and NVIDIA highlighted the potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in achieving photorealism in the visualization of complex data.

This demonstration not only emphasized the technological prowess of the companies but also showcased how sustainable ship manufacturer HD Hyundai could utilize this technology to innovate in product development.

Siemens plans to integrate interactive visualizations supported by the new NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud APIs into its Siemens Xcelerator platform.

This integration is expected to enhance the use of AI-focused digital twin technology, making the design, production, and presentation of products and experiences more efficient and realistic.

Siemens CEO Roland Busch commented, 'This next-generation industrial software allows customers to experience products in context and with a level of realism that mirrors the real world.'

The collaboration paves the way for future interactions with products through natural language inputs, as Busch highlighted the addition of accelerated computing, generative AI, and Omniverse integration capabilities to the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang reflected on the transformative potential of Omniverse and generative AI for industrial enterprises, noting Siemens' role in bringing NVIDIA's platforms to its customers and enabling industry leaders to create the next generation of AI-powered digital twins at any scale.

The next phase of Siemens and NVIDIA's partnership involves launching a new product by the end of the year for Siemens' Teamcenter X, a leading cloud-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

This system, supported by NVIDIA Omniverse technologies, will offer engineering teams the ability to create intuitive, photorealistic, real-time, and physically based digital twins, significantly reducing waste and errors in workflows and accelerating the process of setting up and adjusting details like material definitions and lighting environments.
