Trump to Speak at Bitcoin 2024

Former U.S. President Donald Trump was announced as a speaker at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The event, one of the world's largest Bitcoin conferences, will occur from July 25 to 27. This news marks a significant moment for the crypto community, as Trump has endorsed the industry since earlier this year.

Strong Support for Cryptocurrency

Over the past few months, the presumptive Republican Party presidential nominee has strongly supported the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry. Last month, Trump said at an event at Mar-a-Lago that he would advocate for bitcoin mining if he becomes president.

His endorsement of cryptocurrencies doesn't stop at words. In May, Trump started accepting political donations in cryptocurrencies. His advocacy has earned him backing from prominent crypto figures such as Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood.

A Lineup of Politicians

Other U.S. politicians are also set to speak at Bitcoin 2024. The list includes presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and Republican Senators Bill Hagerty and Marsha Blackburn.

Kennedy Jr. gave a keynote speech at Bitcoin 2023 in support of crypto, where he pledged to ensure people's right to hold and use bitcoin is "inviolable." These political figures' presence highlights cryptocurrency's growing influence in U.S. politics.

Biden's Stance on Crypto

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden's campaign has reportedly contacted crypto industry members for guidance on digital asset policies. Still, it has yet to make significant announcements related to crypto or blockchain.

In a Tuesday letter, the Chamber of Progress, a U.S. tech industry group, urged Biden to support comprehensive crypto regulation. They claimed that Trump has capitalized on the Biden administration's need for clarity.

Predicting the Election Outcome

Users on the decentralized prediction market Polymarket currently forecast a 63% chance that Trump would win in the upcoming November presidential election, while only 13% predict a victory for Biden.

This indicates a significant leaning toward Trump's favor in the crypto community, possibly influenced by his vocal support for the industry.
